20-22 March 2023 - An invitation sent to colleagues whose research interests are in the foundations and philosophy of spacetime:

Minkowski Institute is inviting colleagues who are interested in joining (as affiliated members of the Institute) its most ambitious research project - to examine rigorously whether gravitational phenomena are nothing more than manifestations of the non-Euclidean geometry of spacetime, which would mean that gravitation is not a physical interaction.

Starting from this fall (2017) the work at the Minkowski Institute will intensify. So far we have been putting a lot of efforts and time to obtain government funds, including through offering courses, which would allow us to have permanent members. As this has taken much more time than anticipated, we will first demonstrate, with affiliated members, that the (extracted from the greatest discoveries in physics) research strategy of the Minkowski Institute coupled with devoted brains can indeed achieve notable results.

We at the Minkowski Institute understand that what we are doing has never been done before systematically. Galileo, Newton, Maxwell, Einstein, Minkowski, Dirac and many other great physicists employed specific methods and adequate epistemological positions that led them to their discoveries. Not only have we identified and extracted their successful methods and epistemological positions, but we are combining them in a monolithic research strategy and are testing and further developing this strategy by employing it to issues that might have been causing the present impasse in fundamental physics with the hope it will be overcome.

Some of the issues that have been discussed at the Minkowski Institute (but the research on them have not yet been completed) are listed on the associated with the Institute blog Doing Physics Right. The blog is mostly used by members of the Institute where they post their initial position on a given issue with which they enter the discussions at the Institute.

Becoming an affiliated member of the Minkowski Institute is by invitation only. However, colleagues (including graduate students and postdocs) who share the mission of the Minkowski Institute and would like to get involved in its research, can contact Vesselin Petkov at vpetkov@minkowskiinstitute.org. Please note that only colleagues, whose applications are approved, are contacted and invited.
